摘要:The dissemination of scientific information and its presence in the main media converge on the Internet. Both processes contribute to create the online reputation of an academic institution. This study discusses whether the research competence of a university has an impact on its digital media presence. To answer this question, we measured and compared the research output from nine universities together with news about them retrieved from Google News. The results show that the greater the scientific capacity, the greater the media visibility, therefore resulting in greater impact and standing.
