摘要：Based on two recent studies about technology transfer, this contribution deals with both usefulness and difficulties for the analysis of scientific literature cited in patent documents. This article describes a methodology used to assess the flow of scientific information produced and published by Spanish scientists of the public R&D system that constitutes the background for generation of in-house and foreign patented technology. The described methodology allows us to obtain a set of indicators and reliable information to determine the real capabilities of our Universities and Research centres to produce knowledge potentially useful for the productive sector, increase patent generation, improve technology transfer and cooperation with Spanish industries and to promote generation of spin off companies.
