摘要：One of the main quality problems in document digitization, especially with graphic documents, is the low dynamic range of the capture devices. A possible way to avoid this problem is to apply high dynamic range (HDR) techniques based on multiple exposures. If these techniques prove to be suitable for the digitization of documents in the context of cultural heritage, it should be possible to obtain high quality digital captures while employing lower cost equipment, affordable enough for institutions with limited resources. In this paper we offer a theoretical and experimental approach to the concept and methods involved in the quality assessment of document digitization, the impact of dynamic range on image quality, and the viability of HDR techniques in the context of cultural heritage.
