摘要:Some empirical evidences attribute to news information certain characteristics relevant for its treatment by archives and reference departments of the media. The fact of simultaneous treatment of the same events by almost all media is quoted as «Episodic coincidence». «Ciclyc redundancy» expresses the repeated treatment of various topics at regular time intervals. As in scientific fields, «Matthew effect» points out the existence of concentration-scattering phenomena of news on most public people and some topics. There is also redundancy in physical support, splitting of the messages and a preeminence of compound documents. Some phenomena of «latency», as opposed to the typical obsolescence of scientific documents have also been detected. Use of news information is characterized by a principle of least effort, although this characteristic is dependent of the type of users served. Finally, news documents can change their meaning according to user profiles, user context and appearance of related messages.
