摘要：This article proposes an interpretation of the medical work of Fray Agustín Farfán (ca.1531-1604) which falls on the one hand, in the development of the conversion medicine in the hands of the Augustinians and, on the other, in a New Spain medical culture characterized by plural healing practices and medical knowledge, in continuous negotiation with the religious aspects and therefore in constant dialectical tension between friars and healers in the field of health and disease.
