摘要：This paper analyzes the use of the image as a key element in memory and in narrative construction. It also addresses whether the image as used by traditional storytellers bears the same import and features as with contemporary narrators, despite the differences in their cultural contexts and narrative resources. Particular attention will be given to likely changes caused by the mastery of writing.
