摘要：The aim of this paper is to study the sidewalk as a communications medium, especially in the urban environment. To do so, we collected a corpus of a thousand institutional, businessrelated or personal messages from the sidewalk. This corpus comprises slogans, advertisements, protests, affectionate statements, congratulations... From among all these sidewalk writings, first we collected and examined messages targeting citizens in general, and then focused on birthday greetings in particular because they were more numerous and also because they reflect social transformations.
