摘要:This article examines the problems that arise when the ethnogapher moves from fieldwork into the writing process. In particular, it explores the act of decision making before starting to write: which voices will be heard, how are these voices going to appear, which one is the ethnographer's own voice, and what are the relationships between her voice and her collaborators'. After an overview of the changes in anthropology during the last thirty years, the article points out the necessity of introducing the self in the writing process using an example from the author's fieldwork in the Dominican Republic.
