摘要:The presence of tuberculosis in the Americas is a controversial academic subject, since there are opinions that suggest it could have been introduced to America by Europeans, which in turn implies the absence of this infection in pre-Hispanic times. However, there is abundant literature generated in the last decade, demonstrating that tuberculosis has been present in America since ancient times. This article documents a case of the presence of this disease in an individual who comes from the archaeological site of Chalchihuites, Zacatecas, Mexico, the chronology of which dates from 520 d. C.
