摘要:Using the news gathering as the key point to the analyses, this paper aims to define and describe the role that inquiry, research and accuracy of information play in contemporary journalisttic modus operandi. In order to identify how the investigative process acts on the journalistic 'final product', the chosen methodology was the elaboration of a criteria matrix to measure the presence of news gathering elements in news reports. That analytical proposal was implemented to evaluate published stories. The conclusions were a first attempt to identify how the news gathering criteria are used, as well as how the use or disposal of some of these elements can contribute to the quality of journalistic texts.
