摘要:A recent research in Flanders analyses the way care-givers reflect on the limits of home care and the multidisciplinary deliberation on those limits. The care-givers are found to show a ‘limit taboo’. They show a tendency to temporise or permanently delay a decision and a tendency to micromanage the home care situation into small and practical aspects. The apparent need to a consensus dominates the multidisciplinary case deliberation. Loyalty problems between the caregivers further inhibit an open discourse on limits. The participation of the client and family or volunteer aid to the multidisciplinary deliberation is not contested by the professionals, but nevertheless strengthens the fear of the caregivers to speak their mind.
