摘要：Since the development of deco structuralism, it seems that structuralism has narrowed its scope in literary criticism. Because of this, the binary oppositions of Hemingway’s short story A Clean, Well-lighted Place are studied as a case to illustrate the applicability of the methods of structuralism, and the theme of the short story is fully presented. Key Words: structuralism, binary opposition, Hemingway Résumé Depuis le développement du déstructuralisme, il semble que le camp du structuralisme réduit. A cet effet, l’auteur, prenant Une place propre et claire d’Hemingway pour le cas, s’efforce d’analyser les éléments opposants de cet ouvrage et dévoiler son thème, tout cela permet de prouver la faisibilité de cette méthode dans l’analyse de certains textes.
