摘要:This research aims to analyze one of the first sporting chronic written by Nelson Rodrigues and published in the newspaper Ultima Hora. In the text, the author talks about a "challenge" between athletes of the sport Jiu-Jitsu, in the year of 1955 – Carlson Gracie and Waldemar Santana. This chronicle reinforce a discourse of the family Gracie tradition as creators and disseminators of jiu-jitsu in Brazil. In order to analyze the text, it was used some concepts of literary analysis, based on Antonio Candido and Carlo Ginzburg.
