摘要:This article is a contribution to our understanding of how the system of vocational education and training was formed in Sweden in the period 1890-1920. It demonstrates that, in contrast to previous understanding, the dem and for workers’ skills did not decrease in the period. On the contrary it is likely that increasing capital-skill complementarities evolved. In a European perspective, three distinct ‘models’ for vocational education and training emerged in the period as a response to the new demands on workers’ skills. This article demonstrates that the Swedish system in the early twentieth century was similar to the British, market orientated one.
