摘要：O relacionamento cristão-judaico no Medievo apresenta fases distintas: uma mais tolerante de influência agostiniana e outra tensa, na qual ocorre um cerco aos judeus. Este artigo analisa essa alteração a partir do pontificado de Inocêncio III, que acentua o isolamento do “outro”, tanto os judeus quanto os demais discriminados, e que dá início à purificação social com a definição dos mendicantes como defensores da Cristandade. Papal attitude towards Jews in early 13 th century - Abstract: The Christian-Jewish relations in the Middle Ages presents distinct phases: a more tolerant under Augustinian influence and another in which there is a tense siege to the Jews. This article examines the change from the pontificate of Innocent III, which accentuates the isolation of the “other”, both Jews, and the other outsiders, and the beginning of the purification of the society by the mendicants as defenders of Christendom.
