摘要:This text aims to discuss Brazilian movie City of God. The principal theoretical references are Foucault concepts of subject, power and discourse. This paper focuses on possibilities of relating three questions at least: a) abnormality and exclusion of young and poor people in Brazil; b) power over life and death in our times; c) relations between film languages and “reality representation”. The arguments were constructed within the context of Fernando Meirelles’ narrative strategies and his options as a director.
