摘要:This article examines the extent and intensity of different values expressed by generations exposed to various contexts of political socialization. Data reveal that situations characterized by different conditions of material well-being and physical security have affected the value hierarchy of the Brazilian people. Thus, we can generalize Inglehart's theory whi ch states that the structurat conditions during the formative years of the individuals determine whether they will set up a value structure emphasizing materialist or post-materialist issues.
