摘要：Spanish literature on immigration has been conditioned by events in that country. In general, publications reveal an emphasis on the quantitative and descriptive; studies calling attention to the qualitative aspects of the phenomenon are few, and so are theoretical reflections on the subject; research tends to focus on the sociodemographic and economic charact eristics of the several communities of immigrants, and on the ways in the which the many aspects of immigration manifest themselves in these communities. Most authors also discuss relevant legislation and suggest policy changes.
