摘要：O presente artigo analisa os recentes acontecimentos no Leste Asiático: da formação ao enfraquecimento da proposta de uma Comunidade do Leste Asiático; as crises na Tailândia, Vietnã e Taiwan; e o novo quadro de competição estratégica envolvendo, de um lado, China, e, do outro, Japão e Estados Unidos.
