摘要：This article displays a comprehensive reading of aspectual theory, followed by an attempt to correlate different verb systems. Based on Yule (1998) in English and on Bechara (2004) in Portuguese, the way from theoretical to contextualized analysis was discovered. Finally, a comparative reading of Orwell’s Animal Farm translations has shown how a translator can make inadequate choices if he/she is not aware of semantics.
