摘要：RESUMO Este artigo, após tecer algumas considerações sobre a natureza dos artefatos na tecnologia – tidos como intermediários entre as pessoas e o seu ambiente, do ponto de vista da Antropologia e da Arqueologia (incluindo o contexto natural e o cultural), trata de aspectos da definiçáo, funçáo e manuseio destes, com um enfoque na tecnologia de instrumentos de pedra. ABSTRACT The author considers the nature of artifacts in technology as intermediaries between Man and his environment from the viewpoint of Anthropology and Archaeology, including the natural and social contexts. He deals with some aspects of definition, function and use or handling, as exemplified by the technology of stone instruments.
