摘要：L’analisi di alcune delle numerose intonazioni ottocentesche del Lied Kennst du das Land (con particolare attenzione alle versioni di Beethoven, Spontini, Pollini, Thomas) permette di toccare con mano la trasformazione che la figura di Mignon visse nel passaggio dal romanzo ai nuovi generi artistici. Le “infedeltà” rispetto alle intenzioni di Goethe sono sintomo della vitalità di questa figura letteraria anche al di fuori del suo contesto d’origine. T he analysis of some 19 th -century settings of Kennst du das Land (particularly focusing on works by Beethoven, Spontini, Pollini, and Thomas) allows to see the transformation of the character of Mignon moving from Goethe’s novel to other artistic genres. The differences between Goethe’s Mignon and that of the composers show the vitality of this literary character also outside of its original context.
