摘要：The aim of the Europe 2020 strategy is that EU to become a smart, sustainable and inclusive economy. In the paper we characterize the labour market for the Eastern European Union countries, focusing on the impact of the Europe 2020 Strategy on Romanian labour market. We will discuss the following targets: 75% of the population aged 20-64 should be employed (this target could be achieved by getting more people into work, especially women, the young, older and low-skilled people and legal immigrants); combined public and private investment levels to reach 3% of the European Union’ GDP; the share of early school leavers should be under 10% and at least 40% of 30-34 years old should have completed a tertiary or equivalent education.
