摘要:This study aims to analyze and describe the ability of the first year students of one private university in Manila to demonstrate critical thinking/writing skills in their argumentation paper using (a) modified version of Toulmin's 1958 model of argument and (b) holistic score. In addition, a replication of the rubric used by Knudson (1992) is adapted here. This paper provides some guidelines for teaching practice in light of the findings.
