摘要：El fracaso del federalismo y el autonomismo provincial se explica también por sus líderes, quienes ante la victoria de la coalición portaliana (1830-1859) fluctuaron entre la disidencia marginal y la integración. Es el caso de Infante quien optó por ser una voz testimonial desde El Valdiviano Federal; mientras Matta, prefirió integrarse al sistema, pasando por tres momentos: rebeldía (años 50), transición (años 60) y cooptación (años 70).
