摘要：The analysis of the social construction of time is one of the most valuable areas to study the subordination of social relations and everyday practices for the purposes of the industrial production system. Within these parameters, we will reflect on the central role of time control in the area of market production and how it became a modern instrument of labor discipline that ended up introducing the undisputed centrality of paid work in the social imaginary, constituted as a sphere on which the remaining times of life revolve around, establishing, in the end, the reign of societies of control. In order to substantiate this thesis, from a historical perspective and a critical-dialectical approach, the review of various literature sources lead the way to reconstruct the ideological scaffolding of the phenomenon under consideration.
