摘要：Standing Ovation beschreibt die Entwicklung eines Theaterstücks über Menschen mit Brustkrebs, das für Pflegende, für Patient(inn)en, für deren Angehörige und für die interessierte Öffentlichkeit gedacht ist. Die Autor(inn)en, Mitglieder eines Forschungsteams am Toronto Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre, arbeiteten an diesem Theaterstück zusammen mit Schauspieler(inne)n und mit Patient(inn)en und Aktivist(inn)en des Cancer Centre. Grundlage war Material aus Fokusgruppen mit Patient(inn)en und aus Interviews mit Onkolog(inn)en zu der Frage, welche Informationen an Patient(inn)en weitergegeben werden sollten. Zum Buch gehört auch eine Videokassette, d.h. Interessierte können sowohl die ethnographische Studie lesen als auch die Theateraufführung betrachten. Buch und Kassette sind ein wesentlicher und ungewöhnlicher Beitrag zum Verstehen von Menschen mit sehr schweren Krankheiten und von deren Beziehungen. Die zugleich angemessene und hoffnungsvolle Perspektive der Autor(inn)en im Umgang mit dieser schwierigen Situation wird in Buch und Kassette sehr gut deutlich. URN: urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs0303127
其他摘要：Standing Ovation describes the development of a theatrical performance about people with metasticized breast cancer, which was developed for hospital personnel, cancer patients, their family members, and the public. The authors, members of a research team based at Toronto Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre, were joined by actors who either came from an actor's studio or who were patients or activists in the breast cancer community. The goal was to create a drama based on focus group material collected around the question of what information should be given to metastasized breast cancer patients, and from interviews with oncologists. The book is accompanied by a video-tape of the performance. Thus, one is able to see the outcome of the ethnographic studies and artistic endeavors that are described in the book. The book and videotape are unique contributions to the literature on relations with patients who have very serious diseases.
