摘要:Certainly calls attention greatly to have to think about a conflict, we already got enough world-even if it's a conflict could be said of epistemological, paradigmatic foundation of what is or what should be the discipline to which we so enthusiastically dedicated. I refer of course to the Library. And here starts the first conflict:. What to call this discipline or perhaps set of disciplines: Library? Library ¿? Documentation ¿? A science of information? And how so unanimous call to the components, factors and various aspects of documentary activities? This is something that does not occur in dedicated disciplines as History, Medicine, Chemistry, Law, etc.. and even in the still relatively recent and Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, etc.. If serious is the lack of unanimity in the terms we use, the more serious suspect that, behind these questions, you can hide a lack of unanimity in its concept, its definition, in its epistemological foundation, in short. Both conflicts, if unresolved lead, inevitably, impact of uncertainty in planning teaching and research lines, at the time of establishing the figure of the student or professional who must be in our centers. It is imperative, therefore, the final construction of a paradigm, in short, a theory of news and documentation and is subject to preliminary study and a cornerstone in our schools. And I invite you here to think about this issue and propose elements that contribute to its construction.
