摘要：While many academics and boards of directors from different countries and international organizations focus the problem of universities in opposition to the conditions of the prevailing neoliberal order –though with nuances varying from the radical, the ambiguous to the ingenuous– others favor the irremediable adaptation of the status quo. Based on documentary research, this work is an attempt to summarize this position highlighting opinions of experts, experiences of the author in exchanges with students, professors and higher education authorities of the different countries in the region. Moreover, the author’s own conceptions about education, state and ideology in Latin America constitute the fundamental categories to the author’s perspective.
