  • 摘要:This work had the objective of evaluate the influence of the contact surface unit in the efficiency of an Iron Removal Plant that treats underground water. The filtration duration, the head loss and the variables pH, apparent color, iron (total and ferrous) and turbidity were monitored. With the contact surface unit the efficiencies of removal of total iron obtained for the taxes of filtration of 180 m 3 /m 2 .day, 270 m 3 /m 2 .day and 360 m 3 /m 2 .day were from 94 %, 90 % and 92 %, respectively. In the absence the removal of total iron were around 92 %, 92 % and 91 %, respectively. The filtration duration with contact surface for the taxes of 180 m 3 /m 2 .day, 270 m 3 /m 2 .day and 360 m 3 /m 2 .day was of 41 hours, 30 hours and 22,7 hours, respectively, while in the absence of contact surface the medium duration was of 16 hours, 12 hours and 4,7 hours, respectively.
