  • 摘要:This study was carried out in order to identify and characterize the communities of flowers-visiting wasps of Eryngium eburneum Decne and Eryngium horridum Malme. The survey was conducted in Coronilha Farm in the municipality of Canguçu, Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), in the physiographic region of Serra do Sudeste belonging to the Pampa Biome. Insect sampling occurred in three periods of time: from 08:00 to 10:00; 11:00 to 13:00; and 14:00 to 16:00. In each period, one of five marked plants had their insects visitors sampled during 24 minutes; each group of five plants composed of two plant groups in each species. The samples were collected in two flowering plants of E. horridum (November and December 2009 and 2010) and of E. eburneum (February and March of 2010 and 2011). We sampled 18 species of Vespidae, Polybia scutellaris was the most abundant (60%) and constant specie. The richness was higher in E. horridum. Our results suggest that the genus Eryngium is an important nectar source for the wasps of the Pampa.
