Feminismo. Estilo de vida. Sujeito. Fragmentação. Teoria queer. Identidade. Abstract: In this article I explore the idea of the “de-centering” or “fragmentation” of the subject, as it pertains to Gender Studies and Queer Studies. I discuss social theorists such as Pierre Bourdieu and Anthony Giddens, along with Second Wave feminists as well as queer theorists, trying to articulate an argument about how the unified idea of the Cartesian subject impoverishes the analysis and limits our scope in understanding gender. Key-words: Gender. Feminism. Lifestyles. Subject. Fragmentation. Queer theory. Identity.
