摘要：Este artigo pretende analisar a relação entre velhice e educação nos programas de educação de jovens e adultos (EJA), levando em conta, essencialmente, duas teses: a da exclusão da velhice do projeto educacional brasileiro, e a da funcionalidade do sistema educacional ao sistema produtivo, verificada na sociedade capitalista.Nesta relação, serão consideradas, especificamente, três problemáticas principais de análise: 1) o caráter homogêneo das práticas educacionais verificadas nos programas de EJA, que atendem a um público heterogêneo quanto à faixa etária; 2) a inexistência de uma política educacional específica para a velhice no Brasil e 3) a não-contemplação, em leis como a LDB e o Estatuto do Idoso, do analfabetismo como um problema social que afeta principalmente os idosos.Tais problemáticas revelam, em essência, o descaso do Estado brasileiro para com a “questão social da velhice”, no que se refere a direito à educação, que é (ou deveria ser) universal e não restrito.Como metodologia de análise, utilizou-se a pesquisa bibliográfica e a análise de conteúdo.
关键词：Velhice;Educação;Educação de jovens e adultos;Política educacional;Abstract This paper intends to analyze the relation between oldness and education in the education of adults programs; considering mainly two theses: the exclusion of the oldness of the Brazilian educational project; and the functionality of the educational system to the productive system; observed in the capitalist society;In this relation; three questions will be considered: 1) the homogeneity of educational actions observed in the education of adults; which attend a heterogeneous group in relation to the age; 2) the inexistence of one specific educational policy for the oldness in Brazil; and 3) the disregard; in specific laws for education and for the elderly; of the illiteracy as a social problem that affects mainly the aged;Such discussions show; in essence; the indifference of the Brazilian State in relation to the “social matter of the oldness”; as for the universal right to the education;As methodology of analysis; the bibliographical research and the content analysis was used;Key words: Oldness;Education;Education of adults;Educational policy.
