摘要:The theory of mind proposes that the signs and symptoms of schizophrenia reflect the precise nature ofthe dysfunction within a cognitive system devoted to the recognition and monitoring of one's own intentions and the attribution of intentions to others. This studyexamines the hypothesis that metarepresentational deficits se en in patients with schizophrenia are assocíated with their symptomatology. Forty- se ven people were assessed during this study: twenty- seven patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia and twenty non-psychiatric controls. Measures: Factor "gil test, PANSS scale and mental verbs extension task. The patients were al/ocated to one of four groups according to their current signs and symptoms: behavioural sígns, paranoid symptoms, passivity phenomena and other symptoms/ remission. We found meta-representational problems in patients with negative and positive behavioural signs, paranoid delusions and passivity features and associated with speech disorder. Also, our psychiatric participants with behavioural signs performed the task significantly more poorly than do patients with paranoid delusions; while the group with other symptoms and those in remission performed the task normal/y.
