摘要：Abstract The article makes use of ethnographic data raised in intensive research and exploration undertaken on the coastal village of Tatajuba, west coast of Ceará, to discuss and seek extensions analytic concepts that define and legislate on the idea of traditional population. The targeted objective is to seek to have the data before some problems in both official devices legislation, the academic's own curia, his productions and updates that are suffering in the examination between the corpus of data and theoretic views. As production of conclusive research conducted over the past five years, it seeks to shed contributions to the field of ethnographies of traditional coastal populations witch experiencing transformational dynamics resulting from the mass tourism and business capital, submitting your results, finally, proof argumentative theoretical formulations. Resumo O artigo se serve de dados etnográficos angariados em pesquisas intensivas e exploratórias empreendidas à vila costeira de Tatajuba, litoral oeste cearense, para debater e procurar ampliações analíticas a conceitos que definem e legislam sobre a ideia de população tradicional. O objetivo visado é o de procurar dispor os dados ante as problematizações despertas tanto em dispositivos oficiais de poder, quanto pela própria cúria acadêmica, suas produções e atualizações que sofrem no cotejamento entre o corpus de dados e as visões teoréticas. Como produção conclusiva de pesquisas realizadas nos últimos cinco anos, o texto ainda busca lançar contribuições ao campo das etnografias entre populações tradicionais costeiras que experienciam dinâmicas transformacionais advindas do turismo massificado e de capital empresarial, submetendo seus resultados, por fim, à prova de formulações argumentativas teóricas.
