摘要：A perícia apresentada resulta de solicitação da Justiça Federal sobre conflitos internos nopovo Xukuru do Ororubá (PE). O inquérito era baseado na acusação de que liderançasindígenas haveriam exercido cárcere privado e torturado outros índios, flagrados noterritório depois de terem sido banidos pelos próprios Xukuru. Com base neste processo, fuichamada a discutir a questão da liderança no grupo, sua organização interna e relação comEstado e as Leis. O resultado foi uma perícia que analisa não só este caso, mas pretenderefletir os processos de violência (física e moral) que ameaçam desestruturar o ordenamentocoletivo do povo e que possuem, como motivação última, o conflito pela terra, fortalecidopela inércia estatal, corrupção e expropriação.
