摘要：RESUMO : Este artigo visa a analisar modificação na Lei de Ação Civil Pública que limitou a extensão subjetiva da coisa julgada da sentença no processo civil coletivo à competência territorial do órgão prolator, no contexto do sistema brasileiro de proteção de direitos coletivos e de seu desenvolvimento histórico. Com base neste estudo, o principal objetivo é compreender se tal mudança significa um avanço ou uma ameaça a este sistema processual específico. ABSTRACT : This article intends to analyze a change in the Public Civil Action Act that limited the res judicata effect of class decrees in the collective civil procedure to the territorial limits of the court´s jurisdiction, in the context of the Brazilian protection system of collective rights and its historic development. Based on this study, the main goal is to understand if this change means a progress or a threat to this specific procedural system.
