摘要：Durante anos a infância passou despercebida. Apesar de atualmente ser vista como uma fase importante da vida, os canais de comunicação parecem estar pouco atentos ä ela, especialmente nos programas jornalísticos. A relação entre a infância e a mídia é o tema deste trabalho que visa mostrar, por meio da análise do telejornal Jornal Nacional, a representação da infância na mídia. Para isso foram utilizados autores como Philippe Ariès (2006) e M. Bakhtin (2004) entre outros. O primeiro para que fosse possível tratar da história da infância. O segundo autor, M. Bakhtin contribuiu para a construção de um referencial bibliográfico que tratasse da linguagem e sua interação social. O período da infância a ser analisado é de 0 a 12 anos. Ficou definido como objeto de estudo o Jornal Nacional, transmitido pela Rede Globo. O período escolhido foi de 4 a 16 de abril de 2011. Foi possível perceber que a voz infantil pouco se apresenta no telejornal analisado.
