摘要：O trabalho na infância e adolescência tem, sobre o sujeito trabalhador, impactos de diversa ordem, tanto sobre sua saúde física e psíquica quanto sobre sua educação. Isto vem, crescentemente, se constituindo objeto de preocupação social. Analisamos, neste artigo, alguns resultados do trabalho infanto-juvenil sobre a formação do estudante. Com base numa pesquisa bibliográfica, articulamos diferentes perspectivas teóricas e evidenciamos a natureza polêmica da discussão. Enfatizamos os desfechos positivos do trabalho infanto-juvenil, considerando seu potencial formador e seu valor como princípio educativo, o que dependerá em cada caso das características do trabalho realizado e da percepção dos sujeitos acerca das atividades desenvolvidas. Abstract: Working during childhood and adolescence has various impacts on the worker, as much on his or her physical and mental health as on his or her education. These impacts have increasingly become the object of social preoccupation. In this article, findings of studies on the educational effects of child and adolescent work are reviewed and presented. Based on bibliographical research, different theoretical perspectives were summarized to stress the polemical nature of the discussion. Further, we emphasize the positive outcomes of child/adolescent work, considering its formative potential and its value as an educational principle, depending on the type of work performed and the worker’s own perceptions of such work.
