摘要:The main purpose of this article is to help singers, choir conductors, voice coaches and speech pathologists to prevent vocal disorders. Based on a literature review about singing and speech therapy, it focus on the differences between speaking and singing voices, besides of showing how significant are the techniques such as vocals warm-up and cooling down in order to provide against any kind of illness caused by voice misuse. As we know, there are many possible causes for vocal diseases. Concerning the singers, the voice misuse is the main unfolding factor of such disorders. Thus, it is essential for developing all the singer’s potential the knowledge of the mutual relation between art and science. For singers, the “key” for vocal longevity is to keep the voices healthy.
