摘要:Large-scale sporting events such as the World Cup and Olympics are characterized by intense use of mobile devices. The availability of different network technologies allows users to select the network that offers better benefits to their applications. Providers of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can reduce costs and add value to VoIP service, by adapting the new services to available network infrastructure. This article conduct a performance analysis of vertical handover on VoIP services, using IEEE 802.21 capabilities, in Wi-Fi and WiMAX scenarios. Handover delay and packet loss are adopted as metrics. The simulation results showed that handover delay and packet loss for both networks did not exceed the acceptable limit for VoIP applications The impact of these results show that VoIP services integrated with efficient handover can increase the value of ICT services.
