摘要：Este artigo discute os sentidos atribuídos à velocidade e à aceleração por pessoas de diferentes níveis hierárquicos, no seu cotidiano de trabalho. Com o intuito de contribuir para a discussão metodológica em pesquisas de base qualitativa, o artigo apresenta o método utilizado para a pesquisa de campo e a análise dos resultados. Discute-se, em primeiro lugar, alguns aspectos da história do tempo e da incorporação do tempo linear do relógio no trabalho. A seguir, como foco principal do artigo, apresenta-se a abordagem teóricometodológica utilizada na investigação. São mostrados os resultados obtidos para os sentidos da velocidade: ela é ambígua, ao mesmo tempo libertadora e aprisionadora. E, finalmente, são feitas algumas considerações e sugestõespara pesquisas futuras.
其他摘要：This paper discusses the meanings that people at different hierarchical levels give to speed and acceleration in their daily work. As a contribution to the methodological discussion in qualitative research, the paper presents the method used on the field research and the result analysis. First, it discusses a few aspects of the history of time and the incorporation of the clock’s linear time in the workplace. Then, as its main focus, the paper discusses thetheoretical-methodological approach adopted in the investigation. It presents the findings in relation to speed — it is ambiguous, liberating, and imprisoning at the same time — and a few concluding remarks and suggestions for future research.
