摘要:Summary Most of the real life systems categorized basically into electrical and non-electrical are subject to time dependent stresses and strengths. These models consider the repeated application of either a known or random stress, in cycles of time which may also belong to one of these characteristics. This in turn induces a change in the distribution of strength over time. These facts initiated the present study of time-dependent stress-strength reliability by considering the strength random variable to be a function of the strength of the component in the previous cycle. Constant stresses are repeatedly applied at random cycle times and the number of cycles in an interval is assumed to follow a Poisson distribution. Reliability evaluation for the cases of the initial strength random variable following exponential and Weibull distribution are also discussed. The expressions for reliability are presented for the n component parallel and series system, respectively. Examples are illustrated using MATLAB programming.
