摘要：Desde os primórdios dos tempos uma das preocupações mais básicas do homem tem sido a luta contra a doença e a morte. Para combatê-las, dispõe de uma poderosa arma: o pensamento, que o habilita a procurar conhecer e controlar o meio ambiente, a engendrar sistemas sociais, econômicos e políticos, a tentar desvendar os mistérios do funcionamento do corpo humano, de modo a sobre ele poder influir. A evolução do conhecimento das diversas patologias e suas terapêuticas traduziu-se em sucessivas mudanças na forma de prestação de serviços de saúde, hoje envolvendo organizações que se contam entre as mais complexas de nossa sociedade, consumindo recursos vultosíssimos.
其他摘要：The purpose of this work is to explore, describe and analyze the education of health administrators in Brazil, mainly at the graduate and undergraduate levels. This study is primarily descriptive in nature. First, the importance of administrators is analyzed. Within this context, the factors which determine the role of health administrators are reviewed. Then implications are drawn concerning the educational needs of these professionals. The education of health administrators in the United States and Latin America is reviewed. This is done because of the international nature of the efforts in planning, organizing and financing in the health care educational field. The evaluation of education for health administration in Brazil is presented and the current status is given. The Brazilian programs in education for health administration are described in terms of level and curricular structure.
