摘要:Big cities in modern-contemporary world and the specific ways of constructing reality generated by urban life style are the subjects of this article. In Brazilian society, religious beliefs and cults linked to trance and possession develop alongside and in close touch with other patterns and representations inspired in individualistic ideologies. This fact allows us to understand the complexity and fragmentation of modern social life, and opens the possibility of roaming in different domains and creating new forms of social identity.
