The hypothesis to be worked on is that of the co-presence of enlightenment and romanticism, of reason and myth, both marks of modern times, in the sports field. To develop the hypothesis and putting it to the test, we used the autobiographic memories of Phil Jhackson. We will try to enhance, having of the American basketball as a backdrop, the effective presence of spirituality, of the sense of belonging and of mythic reports.
