摘要:This article intends to analyse the political and ideological importance of the brazilian press ' in particular the newspapers periódicos Jornal do Brasil, O Globo, Folha de S. Paulo e O Estado de S. Paulo ' concerning the 'keynesian' and 'ultraliberal' debates during the 'Nova República' (1985-1989). We intend to demonstrate, based on editorials, that those newspapers played an important role in the working up of the ultraliberal agenda in Brazil. The conclusion is that the newspapers supported strongly this international agenda by refusing a priori the discution related to the 'Keynesian' model and, hence, missing the oportunity to contribute to democracie, an important theme to the brazilian society.
