摘要:The paper offers some thoughts on the relations between literary creation and the subject of this creation, that is, the modern 'individual'. It examines the specific case of autobiographical narratives and discusses the dynamics between author and writer, the fluid boundaries between fiction and 'real' experience, and, especially, how a narrator takes possession of the past and in it creates a new meaning through his text. These problems are of particularm concern to historians, above all those dealing with oral testimonies, memoirs, or biographies. Narrating 'what really happened' is a complex, difficult task.
