摘要：Las empresas del sector servicios proporcionan a sus clientes servicios o productos intangibles. Encontrándose dentro de este tipo las que realizan actividades turísticas, que ofrecen a los usuarios alojamiento, transporte aéreo, excursiones, esparcimiento, información, etc. El estado Mérida, con su cordillera andina cubierta de montañas, lagunas y campos cultivados, representa un atractivo para el turista nacional e internacional. Particularmente, en el Municipio Rangel es donde se aloja el mayor número de turistas después del Municipio Libertador, aún cuando en la mayoría de los distintos alojamientos turísticos sólo se ofertan los servicios básicos, como agua caliente, restaurante, estacionamiento, televisión por cable. No ofrecen otros servicios, como excursiones a sitios turísticos y culturales, visitas a monumentos, servicio de guía para desplazarse por las montañas, etc. Tal situación, indica que en el sector alojamiento no se han adicionado nuevos productos- servicios, restándole valor y calidad a los servicios ofertados. A nivel local, se han desarrollado programas orientados a promocionar la actividad turística como una actividad alterna a la agrícola, con miras a mejorar la situación socio-económica de la región. Es prioritario acelerar el proceso de innovación en el sector alojamiento y demás actividades turísticas, pues es una estrategia que permite enfrentarse a los competidores y a permanecer en el mercado. Abstrac The Tourist Activity in the Rangel- Municipality Been Mérida. Innovation in the Sector lodging and Complementary Activities The companies of the sector services provide to their clients intangible services or products. Being within this type those that they make tourist activities, that offer to the users lodging, aerial transport, excursions, relaxation, information, etc. The Mérida state, with its Andean mountain range covered with mountains, cultivated lagoons and fields, represents an attractiveness for the national and international tourist. Particularly, in the Rangel Municipality it is where the greater number of tourists lodges after the Liberating Municipality, even though in most of the different tourist lodgings only supply the basic services, like hot water, restaurant, parking, television by cable. They do not offer other services, like excursions to tourist and cultural sites, visits to monuments, service of guide to move by mountains, etc. Such situation, indicates that in the sector lodging new products have not been added services, reducing to him value and quality to the supplied services. At local level, oriented programs have been developed to promote the tourist activity like an alternating activity to the agriculturist, with a view to improving the socioeconomic situation of the region. He is high-priority to accelerate the process of innovation in the sector lodging and other tourist activities, because it is a strategy that allows to face the competitors and to remain in the market.
