摘要：Within the context of a university-community partnership dedicated to addressing youth violence prevention and intervention, community and university partners collaborated to use qualitative methods to inform research and practice in relation to adolescent development. The article outlines a multistage model ranging from initial need identification to dissemination of project findings and ongoing engagement. The model, although applied to youth violence issues in this case, has broad applicability to other child, family, and community issues. Lessons derived from the partnership’s use of qualitative methods are summarized, and suggestions for model improvement are provided.
